Our Process

We all love a simple story. A quick copy-paste from StackOverflow and then back to our job. However, building out modern applications is anything but a copy-paste.

Even a simple application can be composed of an absurd amount of moving parts. Today, the typical developer is choosing a programming language, a database, a source control system, which cloud they are going to deploy on, which services to bet on, and the joys of HTML and CSS.

If you choose to deploy outside of a PaaS, then you need to sit down and figure out your networking story. How are you going to manage DNS, network security, email configuration, delayed jobs, and more. Maybe you chose Kubernetes and now you are trying to wrap your head around all of these new nouns like: Pod, NodePort, and PersistentVolume.

Our goal is to help you cut through all of the noise. Elevated Platform will help your team establish a common set of vocabulary. A collection of visual notes to help put everything together.

How we're different

There are no simple answers. Everything depends on a previous decision that was made before you showed up. Our goal is to help you embrace that existing complexity and find acheivable methods for improving the system while everything is running.

Over the years, one of my mantra's as a self-taught developer is that there is no magic. In the end, everything happens for a reason even if its a really hard to find reason. Many times I've been tasked with taking my "keyboard and a flashlight" down into the depths of some system. Doesn't matter if its an accounting system, a software system, or a business process.

I've always had a curiosity about why things are the way they are, and this has helped me tremendously over the years.

Something that feels unique to me after these years, is that I see software development as a means to study business. Much like Conway's law states, I enjoy seeing how the departments and processes of a company impact and/or impacted by the software systems.
